For the comfort and enjoyment of guests the Inn has a great room with a see-through fireplace, huge open beams and a full wall of windows with views of the Spanish Peaks opening to a covered patio. The Private library has plenty of reading materials, games and videos.  Inn has High Speed Wireless Internet Access.

The town is just three blocks away and has become a thriving Arts Community with several galleries. The Tims Art Quilt Studio & Gallery, home of Ricky Tims who is a world Famous fabric artist (www.thequiltshow.com).  Judith Baker Montano, fiber Artist and needlework specialist. The La Veta School of the Arts (www.theLVSA.org) provides art classes of all types.  There are several specialty and antique shops, a great bakery, restaurants and of course Grandote Peaks Golf Course. Winter at Cuchara Valley provides opportunity for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. (Cuchara Mtn Resort does not have downhill skking at this time.) Rio Grande Senic Rail Excursions is currently running a passenger train from Alamosa to La Veta and return over old La Veta Pass, the highest standard gauge crossing in the Front Range. This trip goes through Forbes/Trinchera Park, around horseshoe curve, the edge of San Isabel Nat'l Forest, through 2 tunnels and into historic 1870's town of La Veta.
